Two women are recovering after a man tried to sexually assault them Tuesday night.
The first attack happened near Cheyenne Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard. A 41-year-old woman was physically assaulted by the man but was able to escape.
Shortly afterward, another woman was attacked and sexually assaulted by the same man near Gowan Road on Martin Luther King Boulevard.
"A lot of things happen out here," says one woman who lives in the area, Tiesha Bennett. "You never know if it will be you one day."
"A predator is a predator," says Michael Bynum, a father of two daughters living near the incidents. "If that were my child, it would have ended differently."
Police are looking for a 35-year-old black male, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, wearing camouflage pants.
The attacks come just days after Attorney General Adam Laxalt announced the state is cracking down on sexual assault cases.
After receiving a grant last year, the state will be able to catch up on decades worth of backlogged rape kits. They hope to start receiving test results in June.
