Neighbors are shocked and afraid after two cars are stolen within a dozen blocks from one another on the same day.
One of them was a Domino’s delivery car taken while the delivery was in progress.
Both happened Sunday near El Capitan Way in Mountain's Edge.
Neighbors say the Domino’s delivery car was stolen around 6 p.m. on a residential street in El Capitan and Blue Diamond.
They tell Action News the driver parked his car, left it running, went to the front door, and by the time he turned around, someone had gotten in his car and driven off.
"That's pretty sad and he was just doing his job,” said neighbor Sarah Sohmer. “What was he supposed to do? Lock his car? I mean he was just running up to deliver a pizza.”
Sohmer says the block is generally peaceful, and according to Crime Map, there hasn't been a crime reported on the street in 6 months.
Another car was stolen Sunday near El Capitan and Cactus.
An off-duty officer told Action News the thief broke into a car in a driveway, found the garage remote, opened the garage, and stole the car that was inside.
"It's scary,” said Sohmer. “It's scary because I mean you don't know. I have a daughter and a young granddaughter that live with us, and to know that something like that happened in our neighborhood, that's scary."
