UPDATE: Man who crashed into wall causing power outage arrested

UPDATE ON DEC. 15: The man who crashed into the pole and wall was arrested for driving under the influence. Police have identified him as Mario Acosta.

UPDATE AT 1:38 P.M.: All power has been restored to nearly all customers. Officials say some customers may still be without power.

UPDATE AT 6:45 A.M. Dec. 14: There are at least 500 customers at this time. Store owners in the area are worried about their perishable items. There is no timetable for when energy will be restored.

UPDATE AT 8:45 P.M.: According to NV Energy's outage map, approximately 200 customers are still without power. Estimated restoration time is 11:30 p.m.

UPDATE at 6 P.M.: Approximately 800 customers were still without power at 6 p.m. Complete restoration is expected by 8 p.m.

A truck caught fire after crashing into a wall near a school playground on Tuesday.

It was reported around 2:53 p.m. at New Horizons Academy near Charleston and Rainbow Boulevards.

Investigators say the truck caught fire as a result of the crash. Power in the area has been affected.

According to NV Energy, at least 1,400 customers are without power.

There is no information on the truck driver's condition. No children were injured in this incident.
