The holidays are supposed to be fun but the Better Business Bureau says scammers take advantage of a lot of people during this time.
The Better Business Bureau is warning consumers to beware of common holiday scams like phony charities. Officials say scammers often pose as charities or needy people soliciting money.
The BBB says consumers should always verify the charity at give.org and be on the lookout for names that might sound like a charity you've heard before.
Next, be on the lookout for temporary holiday job scams.
The BBB says to also beware of frauds who attempt to get your personal information from phony applications.
