Officials are investigating a suspicious fire in a shed Saturday afternoon.

The fire leaves a couple married 50 years without a place to live.

Their son, Wallace Hicks, has been taken into custody for outstanding warrants. Fire investigators called him a person of interest for possible arson.

The Clark County Fire Department responded around 4 p.m. to a fire in the shed of a home in the 3800 block of Kolanut Street, near Tonapah Avenue and Walnut Road. There was heavy damage to the shed.

Hicks' girlfriend, Destiny Coalwell, says he accidentally started the fire.

There was $30,000 worth of damage to the property.
