A suspicious item prompted the evacuation of a northwest Las Vegas elementary school Wednesday.
The item was found at Joseph Neal Elementary School, located at 6651 W. Azure Drive, near Tenaya Way. The object, later identified as a replica grenade, was deemed "inert" and was no longer considered a threat by 1 p.m.
CCSD police said a child was playing with the replica grenade on the playground.
Las Vegas police said there have been no charges or arrests at this time.
Classes have resumed but parents could pick up their children early if they wished.
