Student arrested after Mojave High School staff member injured in fight

One person was arrested after a fight at Mojave High School Tuesday afternoon injured a staff member.

According to Clark County School District police, a boy and girl were involved in a fight at the school located near North Fifth Street and Washburn Road. Police said the girl then asked her brother to come to her defense.

During the fight, one of the boys struck a staff member. The teen who struck the staff member is being charged with battery on a protected person while the other two are being cited for fighting. All three are students at Mojave High School and between 15 and 16 years old.

The staff member was transported to a local hospital and is being evaluated for undisclosed injuries. 

Parents of Mojave High School students received a letter from the principal about the fight. The letter stated that the fight happened during lunch and the students will receive "discipline consequences."
