Station Casinos is moving forward with plans to build a casino in northern Nevada more than a decade after purchasing property in Reno.
The Las Vegas-based company announced Thursday that it is working to secure permits to develop an 8-acre parcel near the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.
There's no development timetable and the company listed the construction budget at $50 million to $70 million.
Station began looking into Reno as a potential site in 2005 and shortly after the company acquired two properties in the city. The Great Recession then stalled by plans to build in the area.
Station officials say the casino would provide 350 construction jobs and between 150 and 200 jobs at the property upon completion.
