LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Construction on the Las Vegas Stadium project is progressing as the Raiders 2020 move to Las Vegas nears.
The next big question for the project is what company will secure the sponsorship for naming rights to the new stadium?
On March 29, 2019, Allegiant Travel Company based in Las Vegas applied for a standard character mark for Allegiant Stadium.
A company spokesperson for Allegiant said, "Allegiant filed an application with the U.S. Patent Office earlier this year. The purpose was to protect the trademark of Allegiant Stadium for any future uses, should we need it. Though we’ve had conversations with the Raiders about a variety of sponsorship opportunities, the trademark application is unrelated to those discussions."
Now the speculation begins, will this be the name of the new stadium or just coincidental timing?
