Police said the student had posted something on social media about having a gun and another student saw it. The student alerted it to school administration, who then reported it to CCSD police.

Officials said the 15-year-old boy was found with an unloaded .38-caliber handgun in his possession, along with ammo.

According to a letter sent out to parents, the principal says there were no threats to the school or students.

The school is located near Hollywood Boulevard and Carey Avenue on the far east side of the valley.
