A North Las Vegas mother is sounding the alarm after someone opened fire on her car.
It happened Monday evening at Clayton Street near Gowan Road. Sarah Hames was not injured but her driver's side window was shattered.
"I just hear this super loud, like pop," she said, "I look over and my window is like shattering."
Hames was heading home when suddenly her car came under attack. She said she was able to stay calm and safely pull over to the side of the road.
"I checked my body, made sure I wasn't bleeding, I wasn't hit," she said.
Hames is familiar with weapons but said she's not sure what hit her truck.
"I couldn't see if anybody was there," she said.
The mom contacted police. Detectives told her they believe the damage was caused by a high-velocity BB gun.
Hames believes some kids in the neighborhood could be responsible.
"There's a reason why people have weapons, for self-defense," she said. "Shooting at random cars isn't self-defense."
She's sharing her story now so that other drivers will be extra careful.
"That could have caused an accident," she said.
