Shorter lines at Las Vegas valley stores as Black Friday approaches

The countdown to Black Friday shopping is on but the lines aren't quite what they have been in the past, at least not in the Las Vegas valley.

While there is a line at Best Buy near Sunset Road and Marks Street, it's not nearly as long as previous years.

"I'd just rather spend time with my family," said one woman.

Experts say it's also because of online retailers, where shoppers can basically get the same prices and deals.

"If it's about price and if it's about availability, there's really no difference between shopping in a store or shopping at BestBuy.com," said General Manager Kevin Ribbens.

However, some at Best Buy have been in line for much of Wednesday afternoon, including a father and son in line to get a Toshiba 49 inch 4K TV, usually $449, but $199 for Black Friday.

The manager told 13 Action News that all prices are the same but some items are only available online.

The bottom line is that you have to do your research for the specific product.

Doors for the deals at Best Buy open at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving.
