A fire broke out at The Country Club Towers on East Desert Inn Road around 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

Callers reported seeing flames on the 7th floor of the high-rise apartment building.

The fire was large enough that it was impinging on the balcony of the unit directly above.  A second alarm was called due to the logistical challenges of fighting the fire in the building.

Many of the residents voluntarily evacuated the building. Interior crews made their way up to the fire and were able to quickly extinguish it. A total of 68 personnel total responded to the fire.

Several units were damaged due to a combination of heat, smoke and water.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
