A fatal single-vehicle crash occurred near the intersection of East Washington Avenue and North Pecos Road at around 7:10 a.m. Sunday.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officials report that a pick-up truck struck a fire hydrant and light pole.
A pedestrian was also injured and transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Police believe that the driver was impaired at the time of the collision.
Washington Avenue is closed just west of Pecos.
