BOULDER CITY (KTNV) — Officials have confirmed with Channel 13 that a search is underway for a missing person at the Lake Mead Recreation Area.
It is a multi-agency effort that involves aerial, marine and ground resources.
The National Park Service is the lead agency in this investigation.

People who know the missing individual have confirmed their identity to Channel 13, stating that the person is a veterinarian. While we’ve reached out to the National Park Service, the lead agency in this investigation, to confirm the name, they have not yet provided any official confirmation.
Channel 13 has chosen not to release the name until law enforcement does so.
We also contacted a family member, who did confirm they were related to the missing person but declined to say whether the individual is the person crews are actively searching for, referring us instead to the National Park Service.
We are still awaiting a response from NPS.
No other details have been provided.
