The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is continuing to search for the suspect who put a substation on lockdown Friday.

Police are searching for 39-year-old Ivan Mayoral. He is described as a Hispanic male, 39 years old, 5'9" and about 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red plaid shirt and blue jeans.

"Make no mistake, they will find him," said 13 Crime and Safety Expert and retired Lt. Randy Sutton.

Sutton says criminals usually slip up.

"He's got to have a support system," he said. "He's got to eat, he's got to bed down somewhere, where is he going to go, probably somebody he's familiar with."

Sutton, who is familiar with Las Vegas police procedures, says it's possible Mayoral could have slipped out of handcuffs a number of ways, including the use of a universal handcuff key.

LVMPD was not immediately available for comment on this story, only saying the escape is under investigation and the facts will be outlined once the investigation is complete.

Mayoral was originally stopped by officers for stolen tags on a 1989 Nissan pickup. That vehicle was reported stolen on March 27.

If you know of Mayoral's whereabouts you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
