LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Deans with the Clark County School District are still deans for the time being.
A Clark County District Court judge has granted a preliminary injunction against the Clark County School District.
CCSD Supt. Jesus Jara announced last month that the school district was eliminating 170 dean positions.
The administrator union, which represents the deans, sought the injunction.
July 3 was the deadline for the deans to accept or reject another position in the school district.
The judge granted the injunction after finding that there are questions as to the scope of Supt. Jara's authority and what happened at the June 5 meeting of the board of trustees.
This is not a final decision. A date will be set next week for another hearing.
