LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas police have made an arrest in connection with Tuesday's road rage shooting at a southwest valley shopping mall.

Cody Nox, 34, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm.

Shots rang out around 2:50 p.m. in the 7100 block of Arroyo Crossing Parkway, near the 215 beltway and Rainbow Boulevard.

"No injuries have been reported at this time, and it appears this incident occurred as a result of road rage," police said in an initial statement on the investigation.

Channel 13 crews witnessed a white Lexus SUV with an apparent bullet hole in the windshield. Broken glass could also be seen on the ground behind the vehicle.

According to an arrest report, Nox and another driver got into a verbal argument after the Lexus driver told police he made a wide turn near Nox's Tesla. The arrest report states that Nox told police the Lexus almost hit his vehicle.

Nox, who was with his pregnant wife at the time, told police that the driver of the Lexus called him and his wife derogatory names, according to the arrest report.

"The comment about his wife made him even more upset and as the other driver walked back to the Lexus, [Nox] retrieved his Berretta APX from under his seat, pointed it at the back window and discharged one round towards the vehicle," the arrest report states.

Nox drove away, parked his vehicle nearby and called 911. Investigators said that Nox stated several times that he was "red" and not thinking when he shot his gun.

Police reviewed video from the Tesla they say shows Nox and the other driver involved in an apparent argument before Nox retrieves a gun from his car and fires one round.
