LATEST: The victim has been identified as 59-year-old Thomas Allard of Las Vegas.
UPDATE: According to Las Vegas police, the rock climber has died. They are still in the process of recovering the body. The Clark County coroner will release name and age after relatives have been notified. The coroner will also determine official cause of death.

A rescue operation is underway for a climber in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

It is believed that a male climber suffered a medical episode. His current condition is unknown.
