Big weather changes are expected in the Las Vegas valley this weekend.

Rain and cooler temperatures are on the way.

The valley and surrounding areas can expect widespread rain today through Sunday, including possible thunderstorms in the afternoon hours.

It will also be cooling down. The temps will be dropping from the 80s into the lowers 70s and are expected to remain there through MOnday.

There is definitely the potential for flash flooding this weekend because of the rain and drivers are urged to use caution when navigating valley roadways.

In addition, there is a chance of snow and rain through Tuesday morning for the mountains around the valley, specifically at elevations of 6,500 and above.

By Tuesday, the chances of rain will decrease and temps will start climbing back up into the high 70s again.
