The second presidential debate is in the books. The third and final debate is going to be right here in Las Vegas at UNLV’s Thomas and Mack Center.
Sunday night, UNLV held a watch party for the second debate.
Students, staff, community members, and even people from Canada attended the watch party.
“I think it’s really important that we stay on top of what is going on in our country even though we are young, it is going to affect us so I think it’s important that I’m aware of what’s going on,” said one UNLV student.
The moderator of Sunday night’s UNLV watch party, Jacob Thompson, weighed in.
“This has been the oddest election in American election histroy and it’s just getting weirder by the minute,” said Thompson.
Thompson also raised a good point.
“It’s an opportunity for the candidates to really connect with average citizens and I’m not sure how you can do that when you’re talking about allegations of sexual misconduct.”
Students we spoke with say they feel lucky to be a part of history as we get ready for the third and final debate which will be held at UNLV’s Thomas and Mack Center on Wednesday October 19.
“Hopefully more people will come out and support what’s going on and vote and actually take place in what’s going on in our country.”
