"To heal, we must remember, and it's hard sometimes to remember, but that's how we heal. It's important to do that as a nation," said President Biden.
The 46th president made those remarks while observing a moment of silence for the lives lost to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Earlier, former President Donald Trump wished the Biden Administration luck during a farewell address.
"This week, we inaugurate a new administration and pray for its success in keeping America safe and prosperous. We extend our best wishes," Trump said.
