The Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Florida Panthers in Game 5 last season. The final score was 9-3.
The team visits President Joe Biden before their game against the Washington Capitals. Officials said championship visits to the White House date back to the 19th century.
The celebration and honor at the White House follows a series of celebrations for the team. The parade on the Las Vegas Strip came shortly after the team won the Cup. Recently, the Knights also received championship rings.
"Monday’s visit to perhaps the most powerful building in the world caps a memorable series of celebrations," team officials said. "Exactly five months to the day since winning Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final."
