A fire at an NV Energy plant in Laughlin caused a massive power outage on Friday evening. The power was fully restored to homes and businesses several hours later.
Investigators said an NV Energy transformer exploded, leaving 4 fully involved units on fire.

Firefighters surrounded the blaze to make sure it was contained. They allowed the fire to burn itself out as is required in this situation.
Officials said the main concern was the power outage. At the height of the outage, there were 5,130 customers without power.
Laughlin casinos were running on generators when 13 Action News crews arrived on scene. There were early reports of patrons trapped inside elevators. Officials have not confirmed that but said there were no reported injures.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
