LAS VEGAS (KTNV) -- More than 1,700 customers are currently without power in the North Las Vegas area.
The people who are affected live in the area around Craig Avenue and Simmons Street, which is in the 89031 zip code.
There's no word yet on what caused the outage. But, if it lasts much longer, anyone who has pets may want to check on them. Also, people will want to check on elderly relatives or friends, young children or anyone who is disabled who may be at home in a house without electricity.
According to NV Energy's website, power is expected to be restored by 2:15 p.m.
An excessive heat warning is currently in effect and the temperature can rise very quickly in a home that is not cooled.
