Koch ads return to Nevada TV with spot against Cortez Masto

Posted

A group affiliated with the billionaire Koch brothers is returning to the Nevada airwaves with a commercial accusing Senate hopeful Catherine Cortez Masto of ignoring elder abuse.

Freedom Partners Action Fund announced a new $750,000 ad buy that launches Tuesday.

The commercial features a tearful Heidi Pascal, who describes how her late mother was placed in Nevada's often-criticized guardianship program. She said Cortez Masto's attorney general office declined to help when her family tried to report an abusive guardian, and her mother eventually died alone.

A Cortez Masto spokesman said the new ad signaled panic among Heck supporters.

Koch-linked groups stopped TV advertising nationwide as they prioritized field work, but are restarting commercials in Nevada only.

Some polls have shown Republican Rep. Joe Heck losing ground after un-endorsing Donald Trump.
