NEVADA (KTNV) — Early voting numbers are running ahead of 2016 figures.

Democrats have been leading the voting. Some political analysts speculate Republican turnout is low because of their concerns over the possible abuses of mail-in voting, but now that more states have opened up in-person early voting the gap is closing.

Almost 65 million ballots have been cast so far, nationwide. In 2016, early or mail-in voting accounted for around 58 million votes.

At this time, 258,985 people in Clark County have voted early. The state says around 769,663 people have voted so far across Nevada.
Early voting ends on Friday.
