Television host and political commentator and columnist Jon Ralston is joining 13 Action News to provide political commentary and interviews for the 2016 elections.
“Jon knows the political landscape in Nevada better than anyone and our audience will benefit from his expertise,” said Mike Dello-Stritto, news director for KTNV-TV. “He will give our viewers insight about the 2016 elections and the issues that matter most to them. It will be content not available anywhere else.”
Ralston has been covering Nevada politics for 30 years. He publishes a daily political email called “Flash," writes a column for the Reno Gazette-Journal and is a contributing editor at Politico magazine. He also appears regularly on MSNBC, FOX News and PBS.
“I am thrilled to be joining the team at 13 Action News, to provide news, analysis and interviews this election season,” said Ralston.
“Action News is the place to turn for political coverage in Las Vegas, and I can’t wait to be a part of that.”
Ralston grew up in Buffalo, New York, and has a bachelor’s degree in English from Cornell University and a journalism master's degree from the University of Michigan. He has won many awards during his 30+ years covering news and politics in Nevada, including the Best Non-Staff Columnist award 8 times from The Nevada State Press Association.
Ralston begins his on-air appearance on Monday, July 18. He will provide special commentary and coverage of the Republican National Convention during 13 Action News programs.
