North Las Vegas police and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department are teaming up to find a serial purse snatcher accused of targeting women across the valley.
According to North Las Vegas police, the suspect targeted 4 different locations in North Las Vegas and another woman in northwest Las Vegas Sunday night.
"Really scary because I'm here all the time with the kids," said Vicky Mwenga.
According to North Las Vegas police, the first call came in to dispatchers when a woman was robbed around 10 p.m. near a 7-Eleven at 810 E. Lake Mead Blvd.
The next victim was at the Walmart on Lake Mead Boulevard and Simmons Street at 10:53 p.m.
The third victim was targeted while walking home near Simmons Street and Coran Lane at 11:28 p.m.
The suspect then headed to the Oasis Palms Apartments near Rainbow Boulevard and Smoke Ranch Road where he robbed another woman at gunpoint around 11:48 p.m.
LVMPD said a black male suspect approached a female victim from behind and grabbed her purse. When the victim turned, the suspect pointed a silver handgun at her.
The suspect took the victim's purse and cell phone and was last seen running east through an apartment complex.
"We moved specifically to get away from crime and then this happens less than three months," said Chritine Buchholz, who lives at Oasis Palms.
North Las Vegas police said the suspect's last hit was at the Walmart near West Craig Road and Clayton Street where he robbed his last victim around 12:15 a.m.
"I'll definitely let my husband know and have him with me from now on," said Heather Balm, who shops at the Walmart on Craig.
Police have not released a description of the suspect, but said if you know anything about the robberies you're asked to call LVMPD or NLVPD.
