Police prepare for dueling protests on the Las Vegas Strip

Posted

Las Vegas police are preparing for dueling protests Saturday night.

More than 1,500 anti-Trump protesters are expected to march on the Las Vegas Strip.

The protest group is demanding that the Electoral College honor the popular vote and elect Hillary Clinton for president when they cast their ballots on Dec. 19. In the event this does not happen, they're calling for Donald Trump to denounce the hate groups that support him such as the Klu Klux Klan.

"We want him to say he is for everyone living in this country, no matter their gender, race, religion, ability, or sexual orientation or identity," the group wrote in a Facebook post. "We want a president who will be professional, respectful and conduct the office with class and a graceful temperament."

The group will also encourage Las Vegas citizens to hold Senator Dean Heller accountable for his condemnation of Trump's agenda and campaign remarks. They advise all participants to remain peaceful during the protest.

Police are monitoring social media posts, as Trump supporters are planning counter protests in the same area on the Strip.
