Las Vegas police say an innocent man is dead after walking into the line of gunfire while trying to feed a stray cat.

The homicide happened near the Stratosphere on New York Avenue around 7:50 p.m. Tuesday.
Police say a group of people were in a shoot out on Chicago Avenue and one of the bullets came through an alley way striking and killing a man that stepped outside to feed a cat.
Police say the man in his 30s died from the single gunshot wound to the torso. The Clark County coroner will identify the deceased.
There could be as many as five persons of interest on the run. Police said the shooting appears to be related to a narcotics sale.
