UPDATE: A man is in critical condition Wednesday night after police say a security guard shot him near Durango Drive and Deer Springs.
Police say something happened between the security guard and the victim at The Regent at Town Center apartments. That incident led to the security guard shooting the man in the middle of Durango.
At least two gun shots were fired.
13 Action News spoke with some residents at the apartment complex who say they just got a new armed security team in November. We saw the notice that was sent out to residents and it said all the security officers are either ex-police or ex-military. We are told the security guards prior to November were not armed.
Police wouldn't say if the victim had a weapon when he was shot. They would only say the security guard felt his life was in danger, so he shot.
