Police are investigating a fatal crash in far northwest Las Vegas desert.
Police received a call around 6:30 p.m. Monday regarding a single-vehicle crash one mile north of Horse Drive and east of U.S. 95. The Nissan was found near a large pole on Moccasin Road, between Sky Pointe Drive and Four Views Street.
Evidence indicates an elderly driver was traveling westbound on Moccasin Road through the desert. The driver encountered extremely rough terrain and lost control of the vehicle. The rough terrain caused damage to both front wheels and disabled the vehicle.
Medical personnel declared the driver dead at the scene. The exact cause of death has yet to be determined.
