LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas police say a 49-year-old man is dead after a crash near Eastern Avenue and Vegas Valley Drive.
The crash happened shortly after 3 p.m. on Friday.
According to authorities, a 2001 Nissan Maxima was traveling east on Vegas Valley approaching a green traffic signal at Eastern while a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling south on Eastern approaching a red traffic signal at Vegas Valley.
Police say the Chevrolet did not stop for the red traffic signal and entered the intersection. The vehicle's front crashed into the Nissan's left side.

The Nissan driver was transported to the Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center's Trauma Unit in critical condition where he later died. He will be identified by the coroner's office.
His death marks the 38th traffic-related death in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction for 2021.
The crash remains under investigation.
