A 59-year-old man died in a crash Monday morning that police said was caused by another driver running a red light.

The crash was reported around 7:50 a.m. near Lake Mead Boulevard and Mt. Hood Street. Police said a Chevrolet Avalanche ran a red light at Lake Mead, colliding with a Toyota Tacoma that was going through a green light on Mt. Hood.

The driver of the Tacoma died on scene.

The 32-year-old driver of the Chevrolet fled the scene but later contacted police and surrendered. He was arrested and booked into Clark County Detention Center.
