LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas police say a man has died from injuries sustained in a crash nearly one week earlier in which another driver was brought into custody for suspected impairment.

On Sept. 15, police say four vehicles were involved in a crash near Fort Apache Road and Lake North Drive, near Sahara Avenue.

All injuries were minor except for ones sustained by a 78-year-old man driving one of the vehicles. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition following the crash.

Police said at the time that the driver of the vehicle who hit his failed a sobriety test and was brought into custody for suspected impairment.

Authorities said on Tuesday that the man died days later, on Sept. 21.

His identity will be released by the coroner.

This death marks the 72nd traffic-related death in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction in 2020.

This crash remains under investigation.
