Las Vegas police will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint in the Las Vegas Valley on June 23.
The checkpoint will run from 7 p.m. until 3 a.m. Police selected a location on a roadway that has had 26 events, drunk drivers and traffic accidents in the last six months.
The checkpoint, supported by the Enforcing Under Age Drinking Laws grant, will focus on identifying drug and alcohol impaired drivers before they get involved in a collision.
Officials say the event symbolizes the commitment of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department toward reducing the number of DUI incidents and improving the safety of all Southern Nevada motorists.
