UPDATE: A female driver was taken into custody after a high-speed chase concluded in a Southern California neighborhood around 6:53 a.m Monday.
Police broke through the driver's window to remove her from the vehicle.
The pursuit began after the driver refused to pull over during a traffic stop.

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. (KTNV) -- Police are pursuing a red vehicle in Southern California Monday morning.
The pursuit began around 4:12 a.m. It is unclear what prompted the chase.
No injuries have been reported so far.
Reports say the vehicle is heading towards Newport Beach and is approaching areas of heavy congestion.
Police have attempted to put out spike strips to stop the vehicle but were unsuccessful.
