ORIGINAL STORY
BOULDER CITY (KTNV) - Police say one person is dead and another hospitalized after a sedan traveling faster than 100 mph hit a truck in Boulder City this morning.

The highway was closed for several hours following the crash, which happened on the US-93 near Veteran's Memorial Parkway around 7:30 a.m.

Officials say a truck was leaving a gas station in the area and attempting to drive across the southbound lanes of US-93 to get to the center turn lane to make a left turn.

The sedan then hit the left front of the truck.

The driver of the truck was pronounced dead on scene, and the driver of the sedan was transported to Sunrise Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Witnesses tell police, the car was driving recklessly, making frequent lane changes and speeding in excess of 100 mph.

The driver of the sedan faces possible charges of Reckless Driving resulting in Death once he’s released from the hospital.

Authorities say impairment did not appear to be a factor.
