Police: 1 dead, 2 critical after Henderson crash

HENDERSON (KTNV) — Police in Henderson say a 26-year-old man is dead and two other people are in critical condition after a Sunday evening crash.

On Sept. 27 just before 5 p.m. crews responded to the crash on northbound Eastern Avenue at Wigwam Parkway.

Authorities say a Nissan sedan was speeding northbound on Eastern Avenue when a Hyundai SUV turned left into the path of the Nissan.

The driver of the Nissan, a 26-year-old man, was transported to University Medical Trauma Center where he later died.

His passenger, a 22-year-old female, was transported to Sunrise Trauma Center in critical condition.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 76-year-old female, was transported to Sunrise Trauma Center also in critical condition.

Police say speed is considered to be the primary cause of the crash. It is not known yet if impairment played a factor.

Northbound Eastern Avenue was closed for about four hours while officers investigated.

The name of the driver killed in the crash will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.

The crash is being investigated as the 8th traffic-related death for 2020 in Henderson Police Department's jurisdiction.
