The 2012 Nissan was traveling eastbound on Sunset Road in the eastbound travel lane, east of Dapple Gray Road when it struck the pedestrian. The Nissan failed to stop and continued eastbound on Sunset Road, with the pedestrian, where it struck a raised median and sign post.
The pedestrian was deposited onto the median where he came to rest. The Nissan then entered the westbound travel lanes where it struck the 2015 Chrysler, which was traveling westbound on Sunset Road in the left travel lane.
The Nissan drove up on the median where it struck another sign post and began traveling southbound on Ray Horn Way. As the Nissan approached Durango Drive, it struck a signal light pole and proceeded south on Durango Drive.
The Nissan pulled over to the west curb and stopped. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased by responding medical personnel. The person was identified as 29-year-old Idan Cohen of Las Vegas.
LVMPD officers made contact with the driver of the Nissan and administered field sobriety tests.
The driver of the Nissan, Whitney Greco failed these tests, was placed under arrest for DUI death and felony hit and run.
