A white van hit and killed a 56-year-old man near Decatur Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue Tuesday morning.
The van also struck at least two light poles during the crash first reported at 6:50 a.m. Police said a Chevrolet van was traveling south on Decatur Boulevard when it left the roadway onto the west sidewalk. The pedestrian was pushing a shopping cart north on the sidewalk before being struck by the van.
The pedestrian died at the scene.

The 53-year-old driver of the van was transported to UMC Trauma with non-life threatening injuries. Impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
Decatur Boulevard is closed in both directions from Tropicana to Harmon Avenue.
