A pedestrian is dead after being hit by a truck at 2901 McLeod Drive, which is halfway between East Sahara Avenue and East Desert Inn Road.

Las Vegas police say it happened around 9:47 a.m. Saturday.
Investigators say a 2002 Dodge Ram was traveling south on McLeod Drive at or below the speed limit. Meanwhile, a woman was crossing the roadway about 500 feet from the nearest marked crosswalk. She was struck by the Dodge and pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Dodge remained at the scene and did not display any signs of impairment.
This marks the 9th traffic-related fatality under the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction in 2018. LVMPD will continue to investigate the incident.
