A 19-year-old passenger died in a northeast Las Vegas crash late Saturday night.

Around 11:55 p.m., the crash occurred on East Colton Avenue, between Silver Bow Drive and Lamb Boulevard.

Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicated a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling east on Colton Avenue when it hit a parked 2002 Waba Flatbed Semi-Trailer.

The Chevrolet continued past the corner of the semi-trailer causing the passenger side of the Tahoe to separate. The Chevrolet continued 149 feet east in the roadway where it came to rest. The 19-year-old passenger in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as Juan Manuel Jimenez-Lopez.

The 20-year-old driver, Pedro Regalado-Cardenas, was transported to the University Medical Center hospital with minor injuries.

Regalado-Cardenas displayed signs of impairment and was booked at the Clark County Detention Center after his release from the hospital.

This was the 66th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department jurisdiction in 2016.
