A suspicious package that shut down Interstate 15 and Russell Road Saturday morning has been deemed not a threat.
Around 7:30 a.m., Nevada Highway Patrol Southern Command tweeted that Russell Road over I-15 was closed as troopers investigated a suspicious package. I-15 was briefly closed as well. The package was first reported around 6:30 a.m.
The incident began when a man working on his vehicle says someone drove up and dropped the package by his car.

By 10:30 a.m., NHP has determined the suspicious package was not a threat and Russell Road has now reopened.
