Posted
One man is fighting for his life after being hit by a car near Tropicana Avenue and Topaz Street.

The crash happened around 9 p.m. Saturday night. Police identified the victim as 37-year-old Christopher Rivera.

A vehicle struck Rivera while he was jaywalking, according to police.

The driver of the car stopped, got out, and tried to help him. When Rivera's friends got violent and started attacking, the driver fled the scene in his vehicle.

Police say that charges against the driver may be lowered if he was actually threatened.

The suspect was last seen driving a yellow Ford with left front damage. Latest updates say the victim was in critical condition with his legs nearly amputated.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
