LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The three officers who shot at a robbery suspect on Friday have been identified by Las Vegas Metropolitan officials as:
- 42-year-old Detective Zachary Ivins who has been with the LVMPD since February of 2004.
- 39-year-old Detective Michael O’Halloran with Metro since November of 2006.
- Detective Marlon Magsaysay who is 26-years-old and has been with the LVMPD since February of 2014.
All three detectives are assigned to the Investigative Services Division, Major Violator/Narcotics Bureau and all have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of a review of the shooting.
According to police, the incident began Friday morning when the detectives were investigating a string of robberies in the area of Covington Cross Drive and Town Center Drive when they encountered the suspects at a nearby gas station.
The detectives opened fire when one of the suspects, reportedly, pulled out a gun.
The suspect was struck multiple times and transported to UMC Trauma.
A female who was with the suspect was also transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
