LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting involving two of their own officers early Monday morning.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported the shooting happened in the 3000 block of South Nellis Boulevard, near Vegas Valley Drive, at about 5 a.m.
LVMPD Capt. Nicholas Farese said SWAT was executing a search warrant at that location when an exchange of gunfire occurred between officers and the person in question.

Two officers were shot along with the person authorities were executed the search warrant for and pronounced deceased at the scene.
Both officers were transported to a local hospital for treatment and were expected to survive, according to Farese.
The search warrant was a follow-up on a homicide investigation from November 2021.

Officials say the incident remains under investigation and this was the second shooting involving LVMPD so far in 2022.
