O.J. Simpson sightings around Summerlin draw mixed reactions

Just a few weeks after O.J. Simpson was released from Lovelock Correctional Center in northern Nevada on parole, he's been seen at various spots around the Las Vegas valley.

Recent rumors that he's living in the Summerlin area seem to be confirmed by several people spotting him hanging out in that part of town.

One person even commented "beware" in a post on Summerlin's Nextdoor app that allows neighbors to notify people of things happening in their neighborhood.

In the past few weeks, Simpson has also been spotted in several restaurants near Summerlin. One 13 Action News viewer met him at the Grape Street Wine Bar in downtown Summerlin and snapped a selfie. He tells us Simpson was friendly and they chatted a little about sports before he shook Simpson's hand and welcomed him to Summerlin.

Lundon, a local DJ who lives near Summerlin, also spotted Simpson at Wahoo Fish Taco in Boca Park. Lundon says he was watching a game and getting drinks with friends when he noticed Simpson across from them at the bar.

He took a Snapchat video of the Juice but didn't talk to him. Lundon says after Simpson left, people at the bar were joking about it, saying the restaurant should "get rid of the knives."

Lundon says he's not sure how he feels about Simpson living so close by. "It's weird that you might just see him at the grocery store," he says.

Others we spoke with in Summerlin say they don't mind. "He did his nine years. He wants to be a productive citizen, let's let him do it," one person told us.

Simpson has indicated he eventually wants to move to Florida.
