UPDATE ON AUG. 6: The Clark County Coroner identified the man found in the desert area of Statz Street and Rome Boulevard as 24-year-old Edgar Stevins Jones. No city of residence was listed.
Authorities are still trying to figure out the cause of death.

NORTH LAS VEGAS (KTNV) -- North Las Vegas police are investigating a body found Monday evening.
The body was found around 4:30 p.m. near Statz Street and Rome Boulevard, which is not far from Centennial Parkway and Losee Road.

Police said homicide detectives are investigating. Police are unable to identify the body's gender at this time.
